NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super: What It Actually Does

NVIDIA published a Jetson platform showcase kicking off a week-long series of getting-started examples, beginning with the Jetson Orin Nano Super. To be clear about what this is: it is not a new product launch. NVIDIA announced no new hardware, no new pricing and no new capability in this post, and the Jetson Orin Nano Super developer kit has been available since December 2024. What the post does is walk through what the platform can do today. AI investor Sarah Guo, founder of Conviction and co-host of the No Priors podcast, demonstrates the point by carrying the developer kit in a handbag. NVIDIA says Jetson Orin Nano Super brings desktop-class generative AI to a small developer kit with 67 trillion operations per second of AI performance, giving first-time builders a practical path to computer vision, AI agents and edge AI prototyping. The showcased projects include SidewalkPilot, a custom model that autonomously navigates left and right turns in a toy electric vehicle, and the Reachy Mini Jetson Assistant, a low-latency voice and vision assistant where everything runs locally with GPU acceleration and no cloud, no API keys and no internet required at runtime. NVIDIA also points to Jetson Device Skills and Jetson BSP Skills for deploying AI at the edge, a three-module livestream series, and the wider product range spanning Jetson Orin Nano Super, Jetson AGX Orin and Jetson AGX Thor.

NVIDIA published a Jetson spotlight. Here is what the Orin Nano Super actually is, and what it is not.

This is not a new release. The Orin Nano Super has been available since December two thousand twenty four. What is new is a getting started series.

The kit provides sixty seven trillion operations per second. One demo self drives a toy electric vehicle. Another runs voice and vision fully on the device.

That assistant needs no cloud, no API keys, and no internet. NVIDIA also highlighted Jetson Device Skills, BSP Skills, and a three module livestream series.
