OpenAI said today it is working with the American Psychological Association on how young people use artificial intelligence.

OpenAI calls the APA the country's leading psychology organization. The APA's chief executive says it brings developmental science and clinical expertise to defining responsible design.

With the APA, OpenAI plans resources for families to help parents and caregivers support healthy use, plus resources for clinicians and school psychologists about overreliance.

OpenAI says it works with more than two hundred sixty mental health experts, and has added crisis resources, parental controls and an age prediction model.
