Google just analyzed fifteen million AI conversations to see how people really use it.
Google launched ATLAS, its first study of real AI use, built from fifteen million conversations.
Those conversations came from tools over one billion people use monthly: the Gemini app, AI Mode, and the Gemini API.
Sixty eight percent of occupations use AI, covering ninety percent of American jobs, but it touches only twenty one percent of tasks.
Most of that use is collaboration, not automation. People lean on AI for ideation, strategy, and research.
